Frequently asked questions

We understand you may have some further questions for the event. Below is a list of our most frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question below, please go to the contact us page and send us an enquiry. Alternatively, you may ask questions via our twitter and Facebook as long as they do not relate to a specific registration.

General questions:


Is there an age restriction for attendance?

You must be 18 or over to attend Furcation!


Do I need ID to attend?

Yes. You will need to bring a valid form of photo ID in order to register with us when you arrive.

If you do not provide this, you may be turned away, so please do not forget it!


What kind of ID is accepted?

Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Passport.
  • Driving licence (Full or Provisional).
  • Proof-of-age card issued under the “PASS” scheme

If you are not able to provide any of the above forms of ID, please contact our registration team ahead of time.


Why should I go 'Sponsor'?

Sponsorship is a great way to show your support for the event. Our sponsors get our T-shirt in their welcome pack as well as a small gift pack.

The contents of the sponsor pack are still being finalised at present - keep an eye on our social media channels for updates!

(We have big plans for this year's sponsor gifts!)


Do I need a fursuit to attend?

Absolutely not! Bringing a fursuit is not mandatory and there is plenty to do for everyone at Furcation. We encourage everyone to join in on the fun!


Can I bring my pets?

Yes! John Fowler Holidays offers accommodation which can facilitate a maximum of two dogs per unit. Each dog will require a pet ticket available through our registration system.


How much does Furcation cost?

You can find our handy price guide on the 'Accommodation and Pricing' page. We recommend bringing some spare cash in case of emergencies.


Will I receive a paper ticket?

You will not be sent a paper ticket. The registration system is electronic only. To sign in on the day, you will just need to provide your ID and we will match your name to your registration.


Registration questions:


When does registration open and close?

Registration will be opening shortly! The overriding rule in all cases is that you have until August 31st at midnight to register and be fully paid up for your stay.


When do I need to make payment?

When you or the host of your roomshares reserves a room through our registration system, you will have 14 days to make the full payment of your order. Please see the overriding rule in the previous question when it comes to registration closing!


How do I pay?

We accept two methods of payment: Paypal and Bank Transfer. These options will be provided through our registration system, but our registration team can help you if you encounter any difficulties with making your payment.

In both cases please include your name and order number in the reference so we can easily locate your order on our system!


Can I pay for someone else's order?

Absolutely! Please include the order number in the reference of your payment so we know who you are paying for.


Can I change my order after I have paid?

Yes! At any time before registration closes, you can add or remove items from your order. In order to do so, you will need to contact our registration team and they will handle your request as soon as possible.

Changing your order may require you to make an additional payment if your subtotal increases, and our team will advise you how to do this. By the same token, our team will issue a partial refund to you as soon as possible if your subtotal decreases.


I have paid but it isn't showing as paid on my order!

Our team completes regular manual checks on payments in, and will mark your order as paid as soon as the funds are received. If you are paying by bank transfer, please be mindful that there is a delay in us receiving this payment.


Can I transfer my order?

You can transfer your order to another attendee at any time, even after registration closes. In order to do so, you will need to contact our registration team and they will handle your request as soon as possible.

If you wish to make a transfer after the registration deadline, Furcation cannot guarantee that badges and sponsor items can be changed to reflect the transfer. For this reason, it is better to tell us about any transfer sooner rather than later!

Please note that the settlement of funds between attendees should be handled privately, and Furcation is not responsible for this transaction.


Can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order for a full refund at any time before registration closes. In order to do so, you will need to contact our registration team and they will handle your request as soon as possible.

After registration closes, we make our final bookings with the park, and orders are non-refundable after this point.

Accommodation and Facilities:


What amenities are included in each accommodation?

As standard, each accommodation comes equipped with:

  • Cutlery (Knives, Forks, Spoons)
  • Plates, Bowls & Cups
  • Refridgerator
  • Gas Oven & Gas Lighter
  • Microwave
  • Toaster
  • Shower
  • Fresh Linen

Please note that linen for the pull-out sofa bed is not included but is available without charge from the John Fowlers reception desk. Please let the registration team if you will need a 'sofa bed pack' for this reason and we will arrange for this to be in the caravan ready for your arrival. If your accommodation is lacking any of the above, please let the reception desk know.


Is accessible accommodation available?

Yes! We advise getting in touch before reserving a room in these cases. Please contact our registration team for details on accessible accommodation and let us know your requirements.


How many people can stay in my accommodation?

Each accommodation has a maximum capacity which is listed on our accommodation details page. To ensure your comfort over the weekend, we have included a recommended number of occupants on that page.

Exceeding the maximum capacity of an accommodation overnight is not permitted at any time.


What are the opening times for the Clubhouse/ Pool / Shop / Chef's Corner?

Opening hours are available on the Venue Page.


What kind of food is available at Chef's Corner?

Chef's Corner offers a wide range of food, including (but not limited to) Burgers, Curry, Pie, Jacket Potatoes, Salad, Pasta and other crowd-pleasers. Attendees from 2017 have commented on the good value for money at Chef's Corner making it a great option for dinner; they even offer take-out for you to enjoy in the privacy of your own accommodation.


Where is the nearest ATM?

The Clubhouse has an ATM which charges £1.50 per transaction. The nearest free withdrawal ATM can be found in the 'Premier' Convenience Store situated opposite Combe Martin beach, which is open from 7.30am to 10pm daily (8am to 10pm on Sunday).

We emptied this out last year, so we advise bringing cash with you!


'On The Day':


What time can I sign in on-site?

You can sign-in with John Fowler Holidays reception at any time after 4pm on the date of your arrival to collect your accommodation key. Only the attendees collecting a key need to sign in at reception as your roomshare will be under a single booking.

Please note that keys are limited, and each accommodation will have a maximum of two keys available. If you need more than one key, please ask at John Fowler's reception.


Where and when do I register on-site?

The registration team will be located opposite the John Fowler reception desk. After we have checked your ID, you will receive your welcome pack, and if you are a sponsor, you will also receive your sponsor pack!

Registration desk is scheduled to be open from 3pm-6.30pm on the first day of the event (Friday).


I missed the registration desk open times! Where should I go to register?

You should go to FurcOps to register and claim your welcome pack (and sponsor gifts if applicable!)

If you arent sure where FurcOps is, please ask a member of staff!


What time do I need to sign out by?

On the date of your departure, you must vacate your accommodation and sign out at reception by 10am.


What should I do if I am arriving after reception closes?

If you have roomsharers on site, it is likely they will already have your key, but in the event that you are the first arrival for your roomshare, and you anticipate your arrival will be after 11pm, please call the park on 0844 318 3050 and inform reception that you will be too late to sign in at reception. John Fowler staff will then hand your key to our Welfare team, and let you know where you can pick it up on-site.


There is a problem with my accommodation!

If there are any problems with your accommodation, let John Fowler's staff know and they will do everything they can to rectify any issues you have!


I am having an issue with another attendee / member of staff!

In the rare event that you encounter an issue with someone on site - let us know as soon as possible!

The welfare team's phone number will be available in programme included in everyone's welcome pack. In a pinch, you can also ask any member of Furcation staff for help.


Can I come in costume?

Yes! We fully encourage coming in costume, but please be sure to observe the rules on costumes within our Code of Conduct.
